Bionerga WtE plant to optimize two waste combustion lines with the FuzEvent System.
In July 2007, the Management of the Bionerga WtE plant decided to enter a High Level Control optimization project on two combustion lines with Dublix Engineering A/S.
The decision to initiate an optimization project was based on a feasibility study which was conducted by Dublix Engineering during spring 2007. The study covered the mechanical part, the combustion process as well as the control area. The plant management decided to install High Level Control optimization based on the FuzEvent system as the first activity.
The purpose of the High Level Control optimization system is to increase the stability of the combustion process at the plant, and the plant is expecting an increased waste capacity combined with more steam production.
The Bionerga plant is currently operating two Waste Combustion lines. The plant is located close to the city centre of Houthalen, Belgium. The capacity at each line is 8.7 tonnes waste/hour, the steam data is 360degC/36 bar.
This optimization project is particular important to Dublix Engineering as the plant is equipped with a combustion system and a flue gas cleaning systems both well known in details by the engineers of Dublix Engineering. The two combustion lines have a short expected operational period left due to their age. The contract is therefore a strong sign about the acceptance of the capacity of Dublix Engineering to improve the plant operation based on the FuzEvent High Level Control system and to secure fast pay back of investment.
Installation is taking place in August 2007 and completion of the implementation of the High Level Control system is expected to be within a few months.
