Dublix enters the Italian WtE market

First Optimization order in Italy

An important step forward has been taken into the Italian Waste to Energy market Dublix Engineering A/S has entered an important contract at the Waste to Energy plant in Sesto san Giovanni located outside Milan.

The plant operates three combustion lines (De Bartolomeis technology) all commissioned in 2001, the steam data is 360 DegC at 40 bar. Each line handles 3.3 tonnes waste/hour. Due to the increased amount of waste, the variation in the waste quality and the wish to produce more steam the client, Consorzio Recuperi Energetici - S.p.A. - has decided to install a high level control system at this plant. The target of the project is to increase the steam production by 3-5% based on a much more stable operation of the plant and improved environmental operation. The project initially focuses on the optimization of one combustion line.

This contract is important to Dublix Engineering A/S as the project is the first order, based on the advanced FuzEvent high level control system, at a WtE plant in Italy. The implementation period is expected to be 3 month. The project is handled through MP Engineering aps.

Recently a number of new optimization projects have been initiated by Dublix Engineering at Waste to Energy plants in various countries in Europe, the focus on these projects is all a more stable operation and an increased efficiency in the amount of handled waste and produced energy and steam. The implemented systems use the same methods and rules as applied by the best operators. The new Italian project is another proof that the FuzEvent high level control system is accepted to be a very fast and financially attractive method to establish an optimized environment at the WtE plants, keeping the operators in charge of the operation by using the skills of the operators even more efficiently in the control room.
