IBW Virginal to install FuzEvent on one furnace

The general contractor TPF Basse-Sambre has decided to deliver an optimization based on expert system technology as part of the new combustion line at the IBW Virginal WtE plant.

This project is the second Waste to Energy plant in Belgium to be equipped with high level control based on the FuzEvent system.

The purpose of the new project is to increase the combustion efficiency based on a more stable operation of the combustion line.

This optimization project is following the most recent project at the Bionerga Plant in Houthalen, Belgium.

The FuzEvent optimization system is expected to be in preliminary operation already during December 2007 and is planned to be completed in March 2008. The FuzEvent system requires limited changes in the actual DCS system. The control strategy to be implemented shall operate as an High Level Control applicaion, using the current instrumentation and measurements on the plant and shall be based on the same rules as normally applied by experienced operators.
