DD-Jet System successfully installed at the Norwegian plant Hallingdal Renovasjon IS.

The Hallindal Renovasjon IS Waste-to-Energy plant in Kleivi Ål, Norway, burning 3,5 ton/hour of waste, now benefits from the advanced boiler cleaning based on the DD-Jet water cleaning system.

The mechanical boiler modification and the installation of the system lasted only a few days during a plant stop. The simplicity of the system allowed a very fast start-up, in a matter of hours.

A total of 4 nozzle injection holes have been made in order to clean different areas of the boiler. All 4 areas are cleaned in 15 minutes only. After a 18-hour test, results showed that cleaning of the boiler will be needed only twice a week.

On the matter of fluegas temperature reduction, the results are very satisfactory. The DD-Jet system generated a reduction of the temperature at the economizer from 720DegC down to 600DegC. The high temperature used to represent a bottleneck for the plant; it would limit the amount of waste the plant could burn. The DD-Jet cleaning system has therefore allowed the plant to be more efficient and more productive.

Dublix Engineering A/S was already responsible for carrying out the optimization of the plant using the FuzEvent technology. The optimization resulted in 95% of the operation time with automatic control, 50% reduction in CO emission, an operation 40-50% more stable and a 5-10% increase of the amount of waste handled.
