Furnace grate upgrade at I/S Kara plant

Dublix Engineering conducted March 2009 an upgrade on one furnace grate at the Waste to Energy Plant in Roskilde (I/S Kara).

I/S Kara decided to renovate one grate on its line 4 (size 2,1 m * 4 m) this combustion line was build in year 1989  and equipped with a water cooled grate in year 2002.

The Water cooled grate at I/S Kara needed this renovation due to heavy wear and reduced availability of the water cooled grate. The renovation work was supervised by the engineers of Dublix Engineering A/S, the components for the new water cooled grate has been delivered by Thepa A/S.

This Kara revamping job was successfully completed after 10 working days on site kara.

This revamping activity is an example on the continuation of the good cooperation with I/S Kara who during a number of years has been using Dublix Engineering to carry out inspection and audits of I/S Kara´s combustion- and Flue Gas Cleaning systems.
