The IREN plant in Parma will equip one of its boilers with a Sulfation Generator (SulfGen). This consists of injection of a sulphur based additive with the secondary air. The consequence is the sulfation of chlorides on the surfaces of the fly ash. The fly ash gets less sticky and fouling of the boiler will be slowed down.
