Two DD-Jet Systems for radiation boiler pass cleaning, plant capacity 300,000 ton waste/year
Dublix Engineering is the selected supplier of two boiler cleaning systems for the empty boiler passes on the new Waste to Energy Installation at Severnside Energy Recovery Centre, UK. Dublix Client Hitachi Zosen Inova WtE is the supplier of this new Waste to Energy installation. The plant shall be delivered to SITA UK and is expected to be in commercial operation in 2016. SITA UK is a major Waste to Energy plant operator providing recycling and waste services in many locations of the UK. The SITA UK Severnside WtE plant delivers its services to the South Gloucestershire and Bristol areas.
Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI), a major supplier of WtE Combustion plants, has chosen the DD-Jet system for several of its most recent installations.
The DD-Jet systems for the Severnside plant consist of two cleaning units. Each DD-Jet unit is serving two radiation passes on each boiler.
The DD-Jet system can be operated remotely from the control center. The system can be activated from the plant central control room and the complete cleaning sequence is executed fully automatically. The system provides a safe and reliable operation and a limited need for operator’s resources during the cleaning sequence.
Boiler cleaning of this type has become of increased importance for modern plant operation and maintenance in order to;
- maximize the boiler efficiency
- reduce the risk of debris hitting maintenance staff during plant shutdown
- reduce risk of corrosion due to a stable/controlled fouling condition in the cleaned boiler areas as well as in the boiler super heater sections
- optimize the use of man power during operation and maintenance
The Severnside HZI DD-Jet project is a continuation of a series of similar systems delivered to a number of new HZI WtE plants and shows the strong acceptance of the advanced and reliable DD-Jet technology.
